We are the experts in eiderdown. For more than 80 years, our family has made bespoke Icelandic eiderdown duvets — often referred to as the Rolls Royce of duvets. We’ve supplied them to royalty, to the finest hotels, to the finest beds of celebrities and rockstars.

Following Icelandic tradition, for generations we’ve taken care of wild eider ducks (somateria molissima) on our sanctuary in northern Iceland. We build protective nesting spots and the wild ducks naturally come to roost, protected from the harsh Icelandic weather. We protect them during their nesting period, ward off predators and when their nesting cycle is over they fly away, returning again the next year. We gently harvest the leftover fluff from their nests by hand, process it in our barns, then hand-sew our own brand of duvets to order.

A little more than five years ago a new generation took over the family business with one goal in mind: taking this miracle of sustainable, natural down and making the best, highest-performing and most exclusive outdoor clothing in the world.

We’re calling our new brand Ducking Warm because once people try it on, that’s what they say.

First, let’s talk about the wonders of eiderdown and why we’re doing this:

  • Eiderdown is the lightest and most insulating down in the world. It is naturally waterproof, because, well… eiderducks. This enables us to make extremely light yet highly-insulating clothing that stays dry for much longer than any other down product. Perfect for outdoor gear.

  • Eiderdown also has up to four times the compressibility of all other down which means it can shrink down to fit the smallest space in your pack or suitcase, then spring back to its weather-fighting shape. That compressibility also makes it more durable and gives a much longer lifespan to all other down. Perfect for outdoor gear.

  • Eiderdown is the world’s only down gathered from the nests of the wild birds after they’ve finished using it to stay warm during the harsh, Icelandic winters. Eiderdown is the world’s only down that is a genuine byproduct, 100% sustainable, as well as animal friendly. It’s the closest an animal product can be to being vegan. Perfect for outdoor gear.
